What is the Intra-Company Transfers to Canada (ICT)?
The Canadian ICT visa is a type of Canadian temporary work visa for international companies that have established offices outside of Canada and in Canada. In order to develop their business or transfer their business to Canada, these companies transfer some of their expert and high-ranking employees to the Canadian company. In fact, the intra-company transfer program to Canada is one of the immigration methods that is in the category of international relocation. One of the easiest ways to immigrate to Canada is through business as a foreigner working for a Canadian company, as it does not require an LMIA.

Required documents for the Intra-Company Transfers to Canada (ICT)
- Proof that the applicant is currently working in an international company and intends to transfer to a subsidiary in Canada.
- For the transferred person, there must be documents such as a bill of rights or a contract to prove his activity in his position in the last three years. Also, in the last three years of his application, the person must have worked full-time (not part-time) in the same position in a foreign company for at least 1 year.

Canada intra-company transfer work visa is a type of temporary visa and its cost is calculated like other Canadian temporary work visas. The duration of companies’ application for ICT visa is on average between 2 and 10 weeks. Also, the validity of the work visa in Canada’s ICT program is one year. At the end of the first year and of course at the end of the following years, it is possible to extend the visa.

A work visa through ICT will not automatically lead to permanent residency in Canada. After obtaining an ICT work visa and gaining at least one year of work experience in Canada, a suitable path is needed to obtain Canadian permanent residence.
