1.Express Entry
Express Entry is one of the primary programs which consists of three main economic class immigration programs allowing qualified candidates to immigrate to Canada from all over the world. These include:
- Federal Skilled Worker (FSW)
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
- Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
The Express Entry is a file management system not an immigration program. It has been replaced the old system to provide a realistic pathway and timeline. The qualified applicants may create an online profile. The platform enables candidates to receive an Invitation To Apply (ITA).
Canadian Government implemented the express entry selection system to enhance and speed up main economic Immigration Programs in 2015. The electronic process with online submissions enables applicants to apply online and expect quicker processing times.
2. Canada’s Express Entry immigration programs
It is an on line application process for immigration to Canada through Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Federal Skilled Trade (FST), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and some Provincial nominee programs (PNP).
Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Federal Skilled trade (FST), Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and some Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) , are being managed under this system which is the main application portal for most of the applicant. Except some programs which are still being processed directly through the other channels.
Each program has its own requirements and in order to be eligible you need to meet the minimum requirement to enter to pool of applicants.
The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score will judge your application. In addition, IRCC conducts a draw based on the CRS cut-off score on a regular basis and the applicants who meets the minimum requirements will receive and invitation to apply express Entry

6. New changes in Express Entry
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced that it will soon hold a targeted Express Entry lottery in six new job groups.
Immigration Minister Sean Fraser announced that Express Entry system lotteries will soon be based on need and based on job categories or groups. The program, which is expected to begin later this summer, will allow Canada to attract a skilled workforce with work experience in high-demand occupations.
Important: To be eligible for the new job category lottery, Express Entry applicants must have at least six consecutive months of work experience in one of the eligible industries within the past three years. This work experience can be in Canada or abroad.
Admissibility
You must ensure that you are not inadmissible to Canada under Canada’s immigration law before creating your express entry profile. Or find a remedy to your inadmissibility before you start your application. If you are inadmissible, you would not allow to travel to Canada and you need to either get temporary residence permit. Or you need to resolve your issue prior to travel to Canada.
