Start-up visa program

The start-up visa program encourages immigrant entrepreneurs to grow their companies in Canada. On the other word, Canada’s start-up visa program gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to immigrate to Canada in order to establish a new and creative business. This program grants permanent residents to immigrant entrepreneurs. Successful applicants link with private sector organizations in Canada.

Canada’s Start-up Visa Program targets immigrant entrepreneurs with the skills and potential to build businesses in Canada that:

can create jobs for Canadians
are innovative
can compete on a global scale

There are some eligibility requirements you need to meet in order to be eligible for a Canadian start-up visa:

Meet minimum language requirements in English or French (CLB 5 in all abilities);
Bring enough money to settle in Canada;
Plan to settle in a province other than the Province of Quebec
Prove your business is supported through a designated organization
Pass Canadian security and medical clearances
Show your business meets ownership requirements
As part of the eligibility requirements, you will need to provide Commitment Certificate and Letter of Support that your business is in fact supported by a designated organization. Organizations choose which business proposals to review. Each organization has its own intake process for proposals and criteria used to assess them. In order to demonstrate that the Candidate has obtained support from either angel investor groups, Business incubators or Venture capital funds, the investor organization must submit a completed Commitment Certificate directly to IRCC
