Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) has added five new occupations under the Global Talent Stream (GTS).
The Global Talent steam (GTS) is meant to help employers in Canada to hire special talents by expediting work permit applications.
Five newly eligible GTS occupations
On December 22, 2022, ESDC expanded the following eligible occupations list for the GTS from 12 to 17.
- Civil Engineers (NOC 2021 code: 21300)
- Electrical and electronics engineers (NOC 2021 code: 21310)
- Mining engineers (NOC 2021 code: 21330)
- Aerospace engineers (NOC 2021 code: 21390)
- Computer engineers (NOC 2021 code: 21311) – except software engineers and designers
